Elevate Africa has confirmed that its 2026 Annual Convening will be held in Accra, Ghana, bringing together a prestigious cohort of continental leaders to address the future of the African continent. Scheduled for October 28–29, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, the summit will feature prominent figures including Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone, and Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of Ghana. The event underscores Ghana’s strategic role in fostering pan-African dialogue and leadership under the current administration.
Organized under the theme "Africa: Defining Her Future," the two-day convening is set to host between 400 and 600 delegates, ranging from current and former heads of state to ministers, policymakers, and private sector leaders. Among the notable participants confirmed is former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, whose presence alongside other former heads of state reflects the event’s commitment to bridging the gap between experienced governance and future policy directions. The gathering aims to facilitate high-level collaboration on the continent’s most pressing economic and social challenges.
Central to the agenda are critical discussions on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), regional investment strategies, and governance reforms. The convening will also place a strong emphasis on the role of culture, the youth, and the African diaspora in driving sustainable development. By integrating these diverse perspectives, Elevate Africa seeks to generate actionable ideas that can accelerate economic self-reliance and social progress across the various regions of the continent.
As Africa continues to navigate a complex global landscape, the 2026 Accra convening serves as a strategic platform for leaders to align on a unified vision. Organizers anticipate that the cross-pollination of ideas between policymakers, the diaspora, and investment experts will foster new partnerships and regional investment opportunities. The event stands as a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to ensure that Africa’s future is shaped by its own leaders and citizens, reinforcing the continent's agency on the international stage.
