A coalition of Christian denominations, in partnership with the international Luis Palau Association, has launched the Love Ghana Festival in Greater Kumasi. This initiative aims to provide holistic support, including free medical care, social services, and spiritual renewal, to more than two million residents across the region. Described as a city transformation project, the festival marks a significant collaboration between major religious bodies to address both the physical and spiritual needs of the community through direct action.
The outreach program includes a wide range of activities such as medical clinics, prison visitations, and educational initiatives within local schools. It also incorporates sports and entertainment events to engage the youth and the broader public. Rev. Dr. Seth Frimpong Coleman, a key organizer, explained that the mission is rooted in practical service, stating that the organizers intend to demonstrate the love of God through tangible support before sharing their spiritual message. This approach is designed to foster civic peace and community engagement throughout the Greater Kumasi area.
The festival highlights a significant level of inter-denominational unity, bringing together various Christian organizations to coordinate large-scale community service. Evangelist Andrew Palau noted that the initiative serves as a catalyst for church unity and a renewed focus on prayer and social welfare. These extensive outreach efforts are scheduled to culminate in a massive two-day gathering at the Kumasi Racecourse on October 24 and 25, which will serve as the festival's grand finale.
