Lekzy Decomic to honour comedy veterans at UPSA Auditorium show

Lekzy Decomic, the four-time Stand-Up Comedian of the Year, is set to headline "Lekzy Unleashed: The Godfather’s Edition" at the UPSA Auditorium on November 7. The event is designed to serve as a bridge between the various eras of Ghanaian comedy, bringing together the pioneers of the industry and its current leading voices. This edition marks a significant milestone in the comedian's career as he focuses on the legacy of the art form in Ghana.

The performance lineup features a prestigious mix of veterans and modern stars, including Fritz Baffour, KSM, and DKB. According to the organisers, the "Godfather’s Edition" was born out of a desire to show appreciation to those who paved the way for the current generation of performers. Lekzy Decomic was inspired to create this specific theme following a personal meeting with one of the industry's pioneers, leading him to conclude that the contributions of the older generation deserve a formal platform for celebration.

The "Lekzy Unleashed" series underwent a rebranding process following the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure a more focused and marketable identity. This strategic shift was intended to make the event more distinct for corporate sponsors by providing a clear and recognisable theme for each edition. By focusing on the "Godfathers" of the craft, Lekzy aims to provide an evening of entertainment that highlights the historical evolution of Ghanaian stand-up comedy while showcasing its contemporary growth.
