The Krowor Municipal Assembly (KrMA) has officially presented 1,551 pieces of school furniture to various public basic schools within the municipality to enhance educational outcomes. The presentation, which took place on October 15, 2026, was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Ing. Paul Afotey Quaye, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Krowor, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey. The initiative is part of a strategic effort to improve the quality of educational infrastructure and create a more conducive learning environment for thousands of students.
The furniture package consists of a diverse range of essential items specifically selected to meet the requirements of different grade levels and classroom setups. The consignment includes hexagonal desks designed for group learning, standard dual desks, mono desks for individual seating, and specialized tables for teachers. By addressing the immediate shortage of seating and writing surfaces in local schools, the assembly intends to eliminate the discomfort many students face, thereby supporting more effective teaching and learning processes throughout the municipality.
During the distribution ceremony, officials emphasized the importance of maintaining the new equipment to ensure its longevity. The assembly specifically acknowledged the commitment of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration to educational development, as well as the persistent advocacy of Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey in securing resources for the area. This donation marks a significant step in the assembly's infrastructure plan, with the MCE announcing that an additional 433 pieces of furniture are scheduled for delivery soon to further bridge the furniture deficit in local schools.
