The Kosmos Innovation Centre (KIC), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has awarded a total of $100,000 in seed funding to 10 burgeoning agribusinesses. These winners were selected following the final pitch event of the 2026 AgriTech Challenge Pro, a flagship initiative designed to provide young entrepreneurs with the critical resources and financial support necessary to scale innovative agricultural solutions in Ghana.
A total of 15 finalists competed in the final round of the pitching process, with 10 ventures ultimately emerging as recipients of the seed capital. The funding distribution varied based on the viability and impact of the business models presented. Angban Life received the highest individual grant of $13,000, while From a Mother’s Kitchen secured $12,000. Seven other agribusinesses were each awarded $10,000 in seed capital to support their operational growth and market entry.
This financial injection is intended to help these young entrepreneurs transition their innovative concepts into economically viable ventures. The KIC and Mastercard Foundation's collaboration aims to enhance the transformation of the agricultural sector across Africa by fostering entrepreneurship and technology-driven solutions among the youth. By addressing specific gaps in the agricultural value chain, these businesses are expected to create jobs and improve food security.
Moving forward, the selected businesses will participate in the KIC Incubation Programme for further development support. This program offers specialized mentorship, technical training, and business development resources to ensure the long-term sustainability and scalability of the startups. The initiative underscores a commitment to nurturing a new generation of agricultural leaders who can leverage technology to solve local challenges.
