The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has officially inaugurated a newly reconstituted nine-member Board of Directors for BOST Energies Limited. Swearing in the members on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister tasked the board with overseeing the strategic direction of the state entity responsible for the storage and distribution of petroleum products across the country. The board is chaired by Moses Bukari Mabengba.
During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Jinapor underscored the critical need for improved corporate governance and operational efficiency within the organization. He urged the new board members to uphold the highest standards of financial discipline and accountability in their stewardship. The Minister emphasized that transparency must be a hallmark of their tenure, ensuring that the company’s operations remain beyond reproach while delivering value to the Ghanaian public and the state.
A primary focus for the new leadership will be the effective management of Ghana’s strategic petroleum reserves. Dr. Jinapor specifically charged the board to ensure the reliability of fuel supplies to prevent shortages and stabilize the energy market. He noted that the board must place the national interest at the forefront of every decision, particularly as the government seeks to strengthen the energy sector's resilience and support the transition toward more sustainable energy solutions.
The reconstitution of the BOST Energies board comes as the government intensifies efforts to modernize state enterprises and enhance their contribution to the national economy. By appointing a team with diverse expertise, the Mahama administration aims to revitalize the company’s role in the energy value chain. The board's performance will be a key factor in achieving the broader goals of energy security and economic stability in the coming years.
