Ghana’s entertainment and cultural landscape is preparing for a series of landmark celebrations through 2026, ranging from international music awards to historic local festivals. A major highlight is the 10th anniversary of the Ghana Music Awards UK (GMAUK26), scheduled for October 31, 2026, at the Royal Regency in London. This milestone edition will be bolstered by extensive coverage from Sammyflex TV, led by Production Manager Roland Amartey. Known for his deep roots in the industry, Amartey is coordinating a comprehensive media plan that includes red-carpet insights, exclusive backstage access, and live performance updates, ensuring that the diaspora remains connected to the celebration of Ghanaian musical excellence.
In addition to the festivities in London, the domestic scene will see a fusion of fashion and music through the 2026 Kente Wear Festival. Organized by Freeway LLC, the festival aims to promote Ghana’s rich textile heritage by connecting the diaspora with their cultural roots through four distinct shows held between October and November 2026. Highlighting the event's contemporary appeal, Ghanaian musician Lord Paper and his band are set to headline the festival, which will feature a mix of traditional and modern designs alongside cultural exhibitions and networking opportunities for fashion industry stakeholders.
Simultaneously, the Eastern Region will host the 133rd anniversary of the Manya Krobo Ngmayem Festival from October 25 to November 2, 2026. Originally established as "Hieyemi" in 1893 and later renamed in 1944, the festival remains a cornerstone of Krobo identity, celebrating agricultural traditions and community unity. The 2026 edition, which was officially launched at the Konor’s Palace in Odumase-Krobo, is expected to draw thousands of visitors to witness traditional rites and cultural displays that have been preserved for over a century.
Rounding out these cultural initiatives is the "Weekend Vibes" series at Accra Mall, which seeks to bridge the gap between retail and live entertainment. Under the theme "Legends Reimagined," the mall has been hosting events that blend traditional Ghanaian rhythms with contemporary music styles. Marketing Manager Anthony Asamoah noted that these initiatives are designed to enhance the shopping experience by creating a social and cultural destination. Together, these events—from the high-profile awards in London to the deeply rooted traditions of Manya Krobo—underscore a concerted effort to promote Ghanaian talent and heritage on both local and global stages.
