Praise Achievement Awards unveils nominees for fifth edition

The Praise Achievement Awards (PAA) has officially released the list of nominees for its fifth edition, setting the stage for a major celebration of gospel music. The announcement, made on October 18, 2026, at the African Regent Hotel in Accra, highlights the industry's top talents across 45 competitive categories. This year’s event underscores the continued growth and professionalization of the gospel music sector in Ghana, recognizing excellence in songwriting, performance, and impact. Leading the nominations are several of the industry's heavyweights, including Diana Hamilton, Piesie Esther, and Joe Mettle. Other prominent contenders include MOGMusic and Kofi Owusu Peprah. The categories span a wide range of achievements, featuring prestigious titles such as Artiste of the Year, Male Artiste of the Year, Female Artiste of the Year, and Song of the Year. Beyond local talent, the awards also recognize contributions from the gospel music diaspora, reflecting the global reach of Ghanaian gospel artists and the universal appeal of the genre. Organizers have established a clear timeline leading up to the main awards ceremony to ensure a transparent process. Following the unveiling, a public petition window was opened from October 19 to October 23, 2026, allowing stakeholders and the general public to raise any concerns or disputes regarding the nominations. This measure is designed to maintain the integrity of the selection process. The final awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 13, 2026, where winners will be crowned for their outstanding contributions to gospel music over the past year.
