The Ghana Chamber of Mines has taken a significant step toward modernising its operations with the official launch of its new Member Management Portal. Developed in collaboration with Smart Innovations Ghana Limited (SIGL), the digital platform is designed to serve as a centralised interface for all member interactions, marking a pivotal shift in how the Chamber manages its industry relationships. The initiative aligns with a broader industry-wide push for digital transformation, aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring the mining sector remains competitive in an increasingly digital global economy.
The portal was built to address long-standing administrative challenges and streamline membership processes. According to project details, the platform will facilitate secure communication, improve data management, and provide members with a more intuitive way to engage with the Chamber's resources. Dr. Sylvester Akpah of SIGL expressed the company's commitment to building robust and secure digital infrastructure that supports industry growth. By automating routine tasks, the portal is expected to significantly reduce administrative bottlenecks that have previously slowed down engagement between the Chamber and its diverse stakeholders.
Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey, underscored the necessity of this technological leap. He noted that digital transformation is no longer optional but essential for meeting the evolving needs of the modern mining industry. Dr. Ashigbey highlighted that the portal would foster more timely engagement, allowing the Chamber to be more agile in its decision-making and support functions. This strategic move is seen as a foundational element of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to integrate advanced technology into its core operations, ultimately enhancing the overall experience for its members and improving operational transparency.
