The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially commenced the training of its second batch of recruits for the current recruitment cycle. On October 23, 2026, successful applicants reported to various military training facilities across the country to begin a rigorous six-month Basic Military Training course. This commencement marks a significant milestone in the military's ongoing efforts to enhance its human resource capacity and maintain national security readiness.
The training program is being conducted across a diverse range of specialized institutions to ensure that the new personnel receive a well-rounded military education. Key facilities welcoming the recruits include the Army Recruit Training School, the Air Force Recruit Training School, and the Navy Recruit Training School. Additionally, the recruits have been posted to the Armour Training School and the Army Special Operations Training School, where they will receive specialized instruction tailored to the unique operational requirements of these units.
Over the course of the next six months, the recruits will undergo intensive physical conditioning, mental toughening, and tactical training designed to prepare them for the realities of active service. This foundational course is an essential prerequisite for transitioning from civilian life to the highly disciplined and demanding environment of the GAF. Upon successful completion of the program, the recruits will be formally inducted into their respective service arms, where they will play a vital role in defending the nation's territorial integrity and supporting internal security efforts.
