The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fulfilled a key financial promise by disbursing a total of GH₵2 million to the 20 clubs participating in the Gold Fields Women’s Premier League. Each of the clubs has received a sum of GH₵100,000, a move designed to strengthen their administrative operations and provide much-needed support for the development of women's football in Ghana. This significant financial injection was a commitment previously pledged by the GFA President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku. The funds are intended to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by women’s clubs, allowing them to focus on talent development and logistical efficiency. The direct payment to each of the 20 participating teams ensures that the support is distributed evenly across the top tier of the women's game. By providing these resources, the GFA aims to enhance the overall professionalism and competitiveness of the Gold Fields Women’s Premier League. This initiative reflects the association's broader strategy to prioritize women's football as a core pillar of its growth agenda. Observers believe that such consistent financial support will play a crucial role in improving player welfare and the quality of play, ultimately making the league more attractive to sponsors and fans alike. Through these efforts, the GFA continues to work toward a sustainable model for the women's game in Ghana.
