Gospel musician Florence Obinim has formally outlined her settlement demands in an ongoing divorce from Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder of the International God’s Way Church. After more than two decades of marriage, the musician initiated a traditional divorce in September 2026 by returning traditional drinks to the Bishop's family. Her legal requirements for the dissolution include a GH₵2 million lump sum payment, a residential property located in Barcelona, Spain, and a monthly maintenance allowance of GH₵10,000.
Providing context for the separation, Florence’s legal representative, Kusi Appiah, elaborated on the grounds for the divorce during an interview on Peace FM. Appiah stated that the decision to end the long-term union was prompted by Bishop Obinim’s alleged repeated infidelity. The lawyer claimed that the clergyman had been involved with multiple women on several occasions, which eventually led to the irreversible breakdown of the marriage.
Bishop Obinim has reacted publicly to the demands, using a TikTok video shared on October 13, 2026, to criticize his estranged wife's financial expectations. In the recording, he listed the properties and cash settlement requested by Florence and questioned the validity of such extensive claims. This public exchange prompted Prophet Ogyaba to intervene, advising the Bishop during a recent church service to stop discussing his private marital disputes in public to avoid further controversy.
