The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has celebrated 10 of its high-value Special Load Tariff (SLT) customers in the Ashanti West Region, recognizing them for their consistent loyalty and prompt payment of electricity bills. The recognition ceremony was organized as part of the activities marking the global Customer Service Week, a period dedicated to acknowledging the importance of customer service and the critical relationship between service providers and their clients.
Among the distinguished recipients were major industrial and commercial entities, including Guinness Ghana Limited, Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel, and Asawus Company Limited. These organizations were presented with commemorative plaques and specialized souvenirs as tokens of appreciation for their exemplary partnership with the power distributor. The SLT category typically comprises large-scale power users whose operations are vital to the local economy, making their financial discipline a crucial component of ECG’s operational sustainability in the region.
Mr. George Amoah, the General Manager of ECG’s Ashanti West Region, underscored the critical role these businesses play in the broader national landscape during the presentation. He emphasized that the provision of reliable power is a cornerstone for socio-economic development, enabling industries to maintain production schedules and high-quality service delivery. By honoring these prompt payers, the utility provider aims to foster a culture of financial responsibility among its diverse customer base, ensuring the revenue cycle remains robust enough to fund ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
In addition to the awards, the regional leadership used the platform to address operational integrity and customer security. Mr. Amoah cautioned customers against engaging with individuals who claim to represent ECG without proper authorization, urging clients to verify the identity of staff and utilize official channels for all transactions to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes. This initiative reflects a broader effort by the power distributor to strengthen its relationship with key stakeholders while emphasizing transparency and service excellence across its operational zones.
