Brandix Limited, in partnership with Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), has officially launched the Piaggio Apé City Plus and Apé City NXT Plus three-wheeler models in Kumasi. The launch event, held on October 27, 2026, at the Lancaster City Kumasi Hotel, marks a strategic effort to enhance passenger mobility and provide affordable transportation solutions within the Ashanti Region and across Ghana. The introduction of these models is part of a broader strategy to meet the rising demand for efficient and cost-effective commercial transport.
The initiative, themed "Driving Mobility, Empowering Ownership, Transforming Lives," aims to address the challenges of accessibility in the transport sector. During the ceremony, Brandix’s Country Manager, Mr. Kosala Premakumara, emphasized the company’s commitment to making vehicle ownership more attainable through a new vehicle financing scheme. This program is specifically designed to help drivers transition from renting to owning their vehicles, thereby improving their long-term financial stability and livelihoods.
Chaired by Nana Yaw Akuoko, the launch also highlighted the potential for significant job creation, particularly for the youth in the transport sector. Speakers at the event underscored the importance of road safety alongside economic growth. Piaggio leadership noted that Ghana represents a high-potential market in the West African passenger mobility sector, and the deployment of these reliable and economical three-wheelers is expected to transform local transit options for both operators and passengers.
