He urged parents and educators to prioritize programs that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting, noting that such competitions are essential for building confidence and uncovering hidden talents. Mr. Poku shared that the initiative is designed to provide students with a platform to excel on both national and international stages, citing success stories of former participants who have advanced to study abroad.
The winners received various incentives, including scholarships and opportunities for international travel and exposure. Over nearly a decade of operation, Bookworm has expanded its reach to 10 regions across Ghana, opening its programs to both public and private school students. This inclusive approach is intended to ensure that children from diverse backgrounds have the opportunity to develop the literacy and leadership skills necessary for their future academic and professional careers.
