Bono East Regional Fire Command Partners with Techiman Artisan Leaders to Bolster Community Fire Safety

The Bono East Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched a strategic community engagement initiative, gathering 55 leaders from various artisan and trade groups in Techiman. Held on September 8, 2026, the interactive session was designed to instill a culture of fire prevention at the grassroots level, specifically targeting influential master artisans who oversee numerous workshops and train the next generation of apprentices. By equipping these community leaders with essential fire safety knowledge, the GNFS aims to significantly reduce workplace hazards and domestic fire incidents across the region.

ACFO I Rev. Naomi Ofori-Adubea Sarpong, the Bono East Regional Fire Commander, led the session by emphasizing that the core mandate of the GNFS, as established under Act 537 of 1997, is rooted in prevention rather than just suppression.
