Bawa-Rock Limited, a prominent mining and gold trading firm based in Obuasi, has presented a financial assistance package totaling GH₵700,000 to poultry farmers in Accra. The donation is specifically targeted at those whose businesses were severely impacted by the devastating floods that occurred on June 29, 2026. The presentation ceremony, held at Roman Ridge, marks a significant effort by the private sector to bolster the recovery of the local agricultural sector following the natural disaster.
Speaking during the presentation, Bawa-Rock Limited's Business Development Manager, Eric Addae Boateng, emphasized that the initiative is a core component of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. He noted that the firm is deeply committed to helping local entrepreneurs and farmers rebuild their operations and restore their livelihoods. This financial injection is intended to provide the necessary capital for farmers to purchase new stock, repair damaged infrastructure, and resume production cycles that were halted by the rising waters.
Titus Frederick Lutterodt, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Association of Poultry Farmers, received the donation on behalf of the affected members. He praised the company for its timely and substantial intervention, stating that the support has played a vital role in restoring hope among farmers who had lost significant portions of their investments. Other beneficiaries echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the funds are crucial for the immediate recovery efforts required to stabilize the poultry market in the region.
This latest act of philanthropy follows a series of community-focused interventions by Bawa-Rock Limited. In September 2026, the company provided a support package worth GH₵1.5 million to assist over 300 traders who were displaced by the Obuasi Town Hall fire. By maintaining a focus on transparency and community impact, the firm continues to demonstrate its dedication to creating value beyond its primary mining and trading operations, fostering resilience within the Ghanaian business community.
