The Ashaiman District Police Command on October 17 conducted a targeted operation to demolish several structures at Fitter-Line believed to be serving as hideouts for criminals. The exercise, which took place in the morning, was carried out as part of a proactive strategy to bolster security in the municipality ahead of the upcoming Christmas festivities. Authorities identified the location as a key area requiring intervention to disrupt illegal activities.
Led by the District Commander, DSP Orlando Joseph Adzokpa, the operation involved a team of 30 police personnel. The security team focused on dismantling makeshift structures that they reported had become a sanctuary for individuals suspected of various crimes. By removing these specific points of congregation, the police intend to destabilize criminal networks that typically increase their activity during the end-of-year period.
While the physical structures were successfully leveled, no arrests were recorded during the exercise. Police reports indicated that the suspected criminals fled the scene upon the arrival of the security forces, successfully evading apprehension. Despite the suspects escaping, the command emphasized that the primary objective of the mission was achieved by denying these individuals a base of operations within the Fitter-Line enclave.
This initiative is part of broader ongoing measures by the Ashaiman Police to ensure that residents can engage in their daily activities and business ventures without the fear of harassment or theft. The District Command has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a consistent presence in known volatile areas to protect both lives and property throughout the festive season and beyond.
