Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC has reported a profit before tax of GH₵478.5 million for the nine months ending September 30, 2026. This performance represents a steady increase from the GH₵447.5 million recorded during the same period in 2025, reflecting the bank's continued recovery and strategic growth. The results, released in October 2026, underscore the success of the bank's ongoing transformation agenda aimed at strengthening its financial foundations and market position within the Ghanaian banking sector.
The bank’s financial statements revealed that profit after tax rose by 6.9% to reach GH₵301.7 million. A primary driver of this performance was a significant 19.5% growth in customer deposits, which climbed to GH₵15.36 billion. Furthermore, ADB demonstrated disciplined financial management by reducing interest expenses by 36.1%, a move that significantly contributed to the overall improvement in the bank's bottom line and operational efficiency.
Beyond basic profitability, the bank has successfully built stronger capital and liquidity buffers to ensure long-term sustainability. The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) improved to 27.41%, while the liquidity ratio reached 145.83%, providing a solid cushion against market volatility. Managing Director Edward Ato Sarpong affirmed the bank's commitment to enhancing financial stability and supporting Ghanaian businesses, emphasizing that the focus remains on operational excellence and superior customer service.
Looking ahead, ADB aims to solidify its market position by deepening customer relationships and playing a more pivotal role in supporting the national economy. The bank’s ability to maintain a robust financial trajectory while navigating the complexities of the domestic market remains central to its strategic objectives. These nine-month results set a positive outlook for the remainder of the 2026 financial year as the institution continues to implement its transformation initiatives.
