The 2015 year group of Accra Academy, popularly known as Bleoo ’15, has officially launched its flagship "Adopt a Classroom" project to improve the school's educational infrastructure. The initiative is dedicated to the modernization and renovation of existing facilities, creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. Announced during the formal inauguration ceremony of the year group’s leadership, the project serves as a significant commitment from the alumni to give back to their alma mater nearly a decade after their graduation.
During the launch event, the President of Bleoo ’15, Manuel Koranteng, emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in driving institutional development. He called on fellow alumni and corporate organizations to partner with the group to ensure the project's success. The modernization effort focuses on upgrading physical classroom structures to meet contemporary standards, ensuring that current and future students have access to facilities that foster academic excellence.
In addition to the infrastructure project, the group also introduced the Bleoo ’15 Cares Fund. This secondary initiative is designed to provide welfare support and financial assistance to members of the year group who may face personal or professional challenges. By combining infrastructure development with member welfare, the leadership aims to build a strong, supportive network that benefits both the school and the alumni community.
The "Adopt a Classroom" initiative highlights the growing importance of alumni-led development in Ghanaian secondary schools, where former students take the lead in addressing resource gaps. As Bleoo ’15 begins mobilizing resources for the renovation works, the project is expected to serve as a model for other year groups to contribute toward the long-term sustainability and growth of Accra Academy.
