Absa Bank Ghana has launched a new digital lending solution that allows eligible salaried customers to access up to GH₵350,000 instantly. This automated platform eliminates traditional barriers to credit by providing pre-approved loans through digital channels including the Absa Mobile App, internet banking, and ATMs. The initiative is designed to be entirely collateral-free, meaning customers do not need to provide physical security or secure a guarantor to access the funds. By utilizing automated credit assessments, the bank provides tailored loan offers based on the customer's financial profile. This streamlined approach ensures that funds are disbursed immediately upon application, catering to the growing demand for rapid financial assistance in the Ghanaian market. Charles Addo, the Director of Personal and Private Banking at Absa Bank Ghana, stated that the introduction of instant loans is part of the bank's strategy to enhance accessibility and responsiveness. According to Addo, the move aligns with shifting customer expectations for seamless, on-demand financial services. He emphasized that while the process is fast, the bank maintains robust risk management standards to ensure responsible lending. This digital expansion reflects a broader trend in Ghana's banking sector toward fintech-driven solutions. By integrating lending directly into its mobile and digital platforms, Absa Bank Ghana aims to reduce the time spent on physical branch visits and paperwork. The solution targets salaried workers who require quick liquidity for personal needs, positioning the bank as a tech-forward institution in a competitive retail banking environment.
