Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has formally petitioned the Minister of Tourism regarding a persistent communication gap with the Authority's Chief Executive Officer, Maame Efua Houadjeto. Aggrey, widely known as Abeiku Santana, detailed significant difficulties in accessing the CEO for urgent consultations in his letter, claiming the situation has hindered timely decision-making and negatively impacted the organization's operations and stakeholder engagements.
In response to the petition, CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto has strongly refuted the allegations of being inaccessible. In a formal communication, she emphasized her commitment to an open-door policy for all members of the executive management team and expressed disappointment over the misunderstandings regarding her availability. Houadjeto asserted that her office maintains high standards of professionalism and accountability, which are essential for advancing Ghana’s tourism sector.
Despite the friction, Houadjeto acknowledged the importance of identifying and addressing any perceived communication gaps to ensure operational efficiency. She stressed the need for teamwork and timely consultations within the executive team to achieve the ministry's broader objectives. Both officials have signaled a desire to resolve the impasse to ensure the Authority functions effectively and continues to drive growth in the national tourism industry.
